Meet Our
Interim Pastor
Our interim pastor is the
Reverend Doug Hodges. He will serve our congregation until we call
another regular pastor. Doug was born in Nashville,
Tennessee and grew up near Valdosta, Georgia.
He graduated from David Lipscomb University
in Nashville and Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia.
Before he retired, he served as a pastor in Westland,
Michigan; Springfield,
Illinois; Radcliff,
Kentucky; and Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
He also worked as a Chaplain Coordinator/Ministry Coordinator with the
Pennsylvania Council of Churches.
Doug’s first wife,
Helen, died in 2005 from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) . He is now married
to Ann Hodges and they live in Woodbridge.
“Ann and I met on an internet dating service,” Doug explains. “I’m on the
cutting edge of computer technology—the lower edge—but somehow I figured out
how to use a computer to find Ann.”
Doug has an adult daughter,
Heatherly, who is a social worker for Frederick County, Maryland. Ann is
a Paralegal Specialist with the United States Government.
Doug
is also is an artist who uses his figurative sculpture to make statements about
social justice issues.
